Abstract

The circular economy represents a system of production and consumption in which resources are preserved within the ecosystem to prevent or significantly reduce waste. It has emerged as a highly relevant topic in contemporary discussions surrounding both retail and sustainability. This paper explores the origins of circularity, the key developmental stages, and the individuals who played a pivotal role in shaping and advancing the concept. Furthermore, it highlights the advantages of circular business models and their potential to transform traditional economic paradigms.
