I. General Policy and Submission Types

The journal "Gulani" accepts manuscripts that have not been previously published elsewhere (except for abstracts, published parts of lectures, or academic theses) and are not currently under review. The submission of an article confirms the author's acceptance of these terms.

  • Folklore and Dialectological Texts

Language Requirements:

  • Articles may be published in Georgian or English.

II. Publication Ethics and Review Process

1. Publication Ethics

  • Plagiarism: All submitted articles undergo plagiarism screening using the Turnitin program. In case of plagiarism detection, the manuscript is unconditionally rejected.

  • Author's Obligation: Authors must ensure the accuracy of the data and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

2. Review Process (Double-Blind Peer Review)

  • Double-Blind Process: The peer review process is mutually concealed. The identity of both the author and the reviewer remains unknown throughout the entire process.

  • Detailed Policy: A complete description of the review process and ethical requirements can be found Reviewer Guidelines

III. Article Structure and Formatting Rules

1. Technical Parameters

  • Length: The maximum length of an article is 9,000 words (approximately 40,000 characters), including the bibliography.

  • Font/Spacing: For Georgian language – Sylfaen (12pt); for English language – Times New Roman (12pt). Line spacing: 1.5.

2. Structural Requirements

  • Title and Author: The title must be concise and informative. Author data (full name, degree) must be indicated only in the OJS metadata fields.

  • In-Text Citation (Footnotes): References within the text must be made using Footnotes, consistent with the style. Footnotes should be numbered sequentially with Arabic numerals. All sources used in the text must be included in the footnotes and, critically, in the bibliographic list as well.

Double Structure of Bibliography (Transliteration):

Due to international indexing requirements, authors must submit two separate lists for the bibliography:

  1. Bibliography (Original Language List): Sources presented in the original language (Georgian), strictly following the Chicago Style rules.

  2. References (Transliterated List): A separate, mandatory list titled References. Sources must be fully transliterated into Latin characters (adhering to the ISO 9984 standard) and must include the original language indication, e.g., (in Georgian).
