Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The journal "Gulani" fully adheres to the core principles of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and actively promotes the maintenance of high ethical standards. In the event of any detected misconduct, the journal will proceed in accordance with COPE's Flowcharts.

1. Ethical Responsibilities

A) Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must present original research and clearly cite all sources used. Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and data fabrication/falsification are strictly prohibited.

  • Multiple Submissions: Simultaneous submission of a manuscript for consideration by another journal is not permitted.

  • Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those individuals who have made a significant contribution to the research.

  • Conflict of Interest: Authors are obliged to declare any financial or other conflicts of interest.

B) Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: The peer review process is double-blind, and the received manuscript is strictly confidential.

  • Objectivity: Reviews must be objective and devoid of personal criticism.

C) Responsibilities of Editors

  • Decision Making: Editors are responsible for the decision on which articles to publish. They must act objectively, based on the academic merit of the work, without regard to the author's race, gender, nationality, or institutional affiliation.

  • Ethical Oversight: Editors are obliged to use plagiarism checking software (e.g., Turnitin) and to investigate any suspicion of ethical misconduct.

2. Policy on Misconduct and Retractions

Should the journal identify an ethical violation or misconduct, the following steps will be taken:

  • Clear Communication: The editor will contact the author regarding the violation and request an explanation.

  • Investigation: In the case of a serious suspicion of ethical violation, the Editorial Board will conduct a thorough investigation in accordance with COPE recommendations.

  • Article Retraction: If a violation is confirmed after publication, the article will be declared Retracted. A clear statement detailing the reason for the retraction will be appended to the article, and only the retraction notice will remain on the electronic version of the article.

  • Article Correction: In the event of minor errors (e.g., bibliographic inaccuracies), an official correction (Corrigendum) will be published.
